Jarret DeHart - NJ

Overall

Jarret is regarded as the top high school 2013 left handed hitter in the United States and is projected to be the first lefty hitting high school OF taken in the 2013 MLB draft.  The 6-2 sophomore is still filling out his 205 pound frame; Jarret showed excellent speed and agility results in the national REACT testing programs.  Jarret comes from a family of baseball players.  His cousin Brett Laxton owns a CWS records for K’s at LSU and went on to have an MLB career and his father Bill Laxton pitched 8 years in the bigs and got the first win in Mariner history.  His uncle Will Vespe played at University of Miami and was drafted and played in the Marlins and Indian’s organizations.  He maintains a 3.5 GPA and is an honor roll student.  His mom showed her family’s true devotion to baseball by showing up at the Bobby Valentine All-American tryouts with a fractured hand from a soft tossing mishap with power hitting son---our kind of mom!
